The Montessori Elementary program goal is to inspire students to become independent thinkers who as adults constantly observe and inquire about their environment. Children explore different academic and cultural areas to help understand and appreciate the overall picture of the world in which they live. The Elementary program consists of age appropriate materials that help the children become responsible and accountable for their use of time, accuracy of their own work, and length of focus in different subject areas. The adults in the classroom are available to help guide the child, but the materials and the child are key to learning and exploring. Each child has an individualized work plan.
For the 2012/13 school year, our school offers two Elementary Classrooms. Each includes children kindergarten to 5th grade. The configuration is aligned with the Montessori teaching method and developmental stages that enable children to grow and learn from one another. We believe that every child is capable of excellence. Educating is about finding the key to unlocking that excellence and letting it grow in a school that nurtures individualized learning styles.
We are currently taking applications for children ages 5 through 12 years of age, for the 2012/13 school year. Our new facilities will be opening and our program undergoing an expansion.
